RESERVE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Raffle tickets being sold to help a young cancer patient’s dream come true were instead stolen and sold by a man and woman who kept the money for themselves, police said.

Reserve Township police said Jesse Stewart and her boyfriend, Joseph Conner, broke into 10 vehicles, stealing several items, including the 32 “Jamie’s Dream” raffle tickets.

Police said Stewart and Conner then sold the tickets to relatives and others in Troy Hill. In all, they made $300 off of 30 tickets and they kept the cash for themselves, police said.

The money raised from the ticket sales was going to help a girl who just had a bone marrow transplant. A member of “Jamie’s Dream Team” said she couldn't believe what happened.

“You know, how do you steal tickets and do that?” said Kim Shidel.

Stewart and Conner are being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
